Before you arrive
You should have made all the following preparations. You can see details of all the points below in the Leaders Guide section of our website.

  • You must have completed all payments due for your trip.
  • You must have applied for and received your BSA Tour Permit.
  • You should have ensured that all travel arrangements are finalized – e.g. accommodations.
  • You must ensure that all crewmembers have a valid passport to comply with Customs & Immigration requirements.
  • Do all crewmembers meet the minimum requirements for Sail School Bahamas?
  • Remember to bring identification for all youth showing proof of age, passports will suffice! (All participants must be at least 14 years of age by date of participation)
  • You must have completed and emailed us the Crew Details Form for all crewmembers 30 days prior to your arrival.
  • You must have emailed us a list of shoe sizes for your crew so we can organize snorkel fins.
  • All crewmembers must have completed a BSA Class III Medical Form signed by their Physician as well as their Parent/Guardian. Click the Crew Medical Form button above to get this form.
  • You should have informed us of any medications, allergies or special dietary requirements.
  • Remember to pack your First Aid Kit.
  • We recommend that all crewmembers take out medical insurance.
  • We recommend that your group takes out travel insurance.
  • All crewmembers must have completed a Disclaimer Form signed by their Parent/Guardian.
  • You should have appointed a Crew Chief for the trip.
  • All crewmembers should have the minimum equipment listed as required for the trip.
  • All crewmembers must have completed their BSA Swim Test.
  • You should have given your crew a briefing on what the trip will involve, what is required of them, how they should behave and what they will learn.
  • You must have the necessary copies of the above noted documents to give to us when you arrive.
  • You must bring an ‘Accidental Damage Deposit’ of $200 (check, cash). This is fully refundable unless your crew damages the sailboat you are assigned to.

Taxi
Prior to arriving we will confirm arrival instructions for your crew by email. However, once you arrive at Marsh Harbour International Airport, you will take a Taxi (costing around $15 - $20) to the dock (approximately 10minutes) where your sailing vessel will be waiting. Sail School Bahamas staff will arrange to meet you at the dock when you arrive.

Your Sailboat
Shortly before you arrive we will allocate a suitable sailboat to your crew and this will be confirmed by email along with your arrival instructions. It is important to note that space onboard is limited so pack sparingly. Please see the ‘What to Bring’ section of our website to find out more.
