-
Only bring ONE
bag per person. Use soft luggage only - bags should
be no longer than 28" - 30". DO NOT bring suitcases
as space onboard is limited. (If you have your own snorkeling gear,
it can be brought in a separate bag.)
-
Most Scout Troops
travel in a Class A uniform, however, some prefer
to travel in a Class B. It is in your own best interests to travel
dressed smartly!
-
Each crewmember
should bring a 'Nalgene' water bottle and attach
a carabiner. Bring an unbreakable mug
if you wish to drink hot drinks.
-
Bring a small
towel and toiletry items.
-
We strongly
recommend an inflatable sleep mat in preference to
a foam mat as they take up much less space in your bag and are more
comfortable. A half to three quarter body length self-inflating (ThermaRest
type) is best. You will also need a 2-season sleeping bag
plus sheet/liner (for spring trips) or a
light fleece sleep roll or sheet (for summer trips).
Do not forget to bring a small pillow.
-
Sun
Block - SPF30 or higher is essential.
-
Bug
Spray
-
A 'light' rain
jacket.
-
2 pairs of swim
shorts/swimming suits
-
Bring several
T-Shirts. You may wish to pack a long sleeve shirt
and a pair of lightweight long pants for sun protection.
-
Sunglasses
-
Wide
brimmed hat for sun protection - chin ties are useful while
sailing.
-
Recommended
footwear: Please bring trainers and/or sandals/flip-flops
and water shoes. Your sandals can double as water
shoes if you like. Please note our point further down the page about
not bringing Deck Shoes.
-
A Flashlight
or Headlamp is recommended.
-
A normal or
disposable camera is recommended. Underwater disposable
cameras are great for snorkeling photos.
-
Earplugs
may be handy.
-
Bring Personal
medication required for the duration of your stay - don't
forget anything important, as you may not be able to get hold of it
here easily.
-
You may wish
to make and bring with you your own Scout Troop Flag
so you can raise this and sail with it throughout your sailing adventure.
-
Also, you may
wish to have Troop T-Shirts made for your journey
to and from the Bahamas as a Class B uniform as well as for wearing
whilst here. We also have our own CREW T-Shirts and Polo Shirts for
sale, ask your Captain for details.
-
Spending
money is required but each crewmember or Troop should decide
what amount is appropriate.
